Christmas in Kinsale. This annual event is geared to help raise money for less fortunate neighbors during the holiday season. Two area food pantries, The Haven Shelter, and Westmoreland Social Services benefit from your kind participation. 8-10 a.m.: Masons of Westmoreland Lodge #212 (Kinsale) will be serving PANCAKE BREAKFAST at the Lodge, and will donate proceeds (tickets are $5 per person) to the Christmas event.
10-4: CHRISTMAS BAZAAR in the Firehouse and Park.
10-3:15: SILENT AUCTION in the Museum (bidding closes at 3:15).
10-5: TOYBOX RAFFLE TICKETS available at the Museum (winner to be drawn on Dec. 16).
10-12: LIVE MUSIC at the Gazebo.
11 till sold out: COOKIES GALORE for sale in the old Ice Cream Parlor. Contact Ann Lewis at 804-472-2344 to promise your 5-dozen plus cookies for this fund-raiser.
11 on: free HOT CIDER in the firehouse.
11-3:30: KIDS ZONE in the firehouse.
11-4: GREAT FOOD in the Park.
11-4: Visit GRAY BARN ANTIQUES.
11:45: PARADE LINE-UP.
12: SANTA COMES TO TOWN in the parade at noon, and welcomes youngsters’ Christmas wishes from 12:30-2:30 in the righthand bay of the firehouse. Kids, make sure to enter your names with Santa’s helpers to be included in the bike raffle, winners to be drawn at 3:45 beside the Gazebo.
12:30-3: Live music from HARD TO TELL BAND with Ricky Wilkins, from the bandstand in the Park.
1-3 : Free MULE WAGON RIDES start at the Gazebo, from Leslie Davis and his mules of James River Carriages.
3:15: AUCTION BIDDING CLOSES. Winners can pay about 20 minutes later.
3:45: Draw names for BIKE RAFFLE WINNERS and announce winners of the Christmas Decorating Contest.
4 p.m.: MEMORIAL TREE LIGHTING in the Gazebo. 2023 angels’ names will be read, followed by a prayer as families and friends of the departed ones join hands around the tree.
