Dear friends of Kinsale:
A schedule for Christmas in Kinsale 2012 follows below. Please
come! Please help
if you can!
All the best, Museum Director Lynn Norris.
(804-450-7651)
FIRST & FOREMOST:
Has Ann Lewis reached you to find out if you will make cookies
or candy or a cake for sale on Dec. 1 in the old Ice Cream
Parlor or at the silent auction? If she hasn’t already
reached you, call her at 472-2344 to let her know how you can
help!
A.
Hiding Christmas gifts in your closets or cupboards?
Perhaps you will see one or two nice collectibles or pretty or
useful things that you might be willing to donate to the
silent auction for Christmas in Kinsale on Dec. 1.
You’d be surprised at how generous the bids are on these
treasures, and for such a good cause! Money from this goes
to fund our substantial annual gifts to Social Services, which
buys gifts for needy children and senior citizens. Also,
to making our community events festive. Please bring your
offerings to the Museum on Fridays and Saturdays. They can
reach us as late as Nov. 31 at 5 p.m. or if necessary on Dec. 1
by 10 a.m., but
soonest is best.
B.
We also collect and forward to Social Services things you may
not need anymore, but which will help keep folks warm, or
which would be nice stocking stuffers for elderly or
disabled folks whose budget is severely challenged to pay for
food, medicine, and heating oil. Such as:
1.
gently used but still nice, warm, serviceable winter gloves,
hats, mufflers, socks
2.
blankets, towels, quilts, laprobes and other linens
3.
pretty things like silk scarves, costume jewelry, etc.
4.
useful (new) toiletries
5.
Ensure or other food supplements (“good” dates, of course)
C. We are
getting names together for our Memorial Tree of “angels”

NOT LISTED ABOVE,
please e-mail
museumdirector@gmail.com or call my cell phone at
804-450-7651 and leave a message with your phone
number. We like for someone to be present to represent
each “angel” when we are lighting the tree. You can also
contribute to lights in your angels’ memory, see below.
D.
We are taking contributions of $5 per name for lights
on the tree in HONOR of special living
people you want to salute. We are also taking
contributions of $5 per name for lights on the tree in
MEMORY of departed friends and family members.
These angels can
have passed away at any time – NOT just this year!!!
Please send separate lists of living people honored
and deceased people memorialized... so your Museum Director
can make sure the names go on the correct list! Write the
check to Kinsale Foundation, and mail it to Kinsale Museum,
P.O. Box 307, Kinsale, Va. 22488 and give your name
and phone number in case I have questions.
